I had two monthly goals for April and I am happy to say I completed both. The first goal was to join my blocks of the Vintage Farm Girl quilt with sashings and borders. As you will notice I did not make all the blocks in the book but I am happy with the ones I did. I joined the blocks with white sashings and red/white gingham corner stones. I found a cute Waverly fabric in yellow with red cherries for the borders that gives the quilt a little more ‘vintage’ feel.
Goal number two was to add the borders to my Nine Patch Star quilt which I accomplished also. 🙂 I added a solid gray border that I think frames the blocks.
Now it is your turn. Are you in the One Monthly Goal challenge with Elm Street Quilts? I have several projects in various stages of completion now so I am not sure which I will choose to be my OMG for May.

Peggy – these quilts are just simply stunning. I think they are both beautiful. I have way to many UFO’s (UnFinished Objects_ sitting in my craft room. I am inspired by your one monthly goal. Between doctoral studies, book signings, raising a family, and teaching, I am now dreaming of finishing some of those projects to just have a little “me time”. Thank you for the inspiration. Kandy

Thank you so much Kandy. I am amazed at your list of ‘duties’. I think I would go to bed and pull the covers over my head. 🙂

Thank you. Yes it is nice and doesn’t happen very often because I tend to over-plan. 🙂 I think I am too tired to do the happy dance.

Wow!!!! The Farm Girl Vintage quilt is mega awesome (and I am sooooo envious you finished one, you inspire me to get back to mine). The other one is delightful also – congrats!

Congratulations on your wonderful finishes! In both quilts I love how the blocks are so nice and big, love that chicken!

Thank you Abbie. The chicken is my favorite also. I did the barn block but decided to make it into a bed cushion.

Your color selection and placement are very pleasing to the eye and sashings are always so difficult to get the aligned correctly. Good job!, and thx for the compliment. Robin’s Nest caught me off guard – never thought I would have issues, but all resolved now! Have a great day!
