The Blockheads Block #14 of 48 is the Square in a Square by Betsy Chutchian at http://betsysbestquiltsandmore.blogspot.com/ As you can see from the pictures, I couldn’t decide which color layout to use so I did both. This is another fun and easy block to construct. It would be great for a baby quilt with fussy cutting the center squares, an I Spy quilt, or any other that a center square would be the ‘star’.
I am having so much fun with these blocks and I look forward to the next Wednesday block. This is the first quilt along I have participated in because I usually put so much pressure on myself that it isn’t fun but this is the exception. The designers are all so talented and it is a pleasure to sew with them.

I love the fussy cut centers!!! I so want to make a quilt one day with all fussy cut centers!

Thank you Tierney. I don’t like ‘naked’ center blocks so I add something. 🙂

Hi Peggy,
I like both of these blocks. The I Spy quilt idea is a great one – I want to make one of those myself. ~smile~

All I need is some great grandkids and I’ll be all set for the baby quilts. 🙂

Congratulations. I’m sure a quilt will be in the works for the new addition. No great grands in sight for me yet.

Small blocks are not my favorite to make but I love seeing them in quilts. 🙂
