Block #17 of the Moda Blockheads Block of the Week is the Trail of Tears by Lisa Bongean This block is made of HST (half square triangles) and it is very easy to make as long you trim your blocks. I love working with the HST so as soon as the posting came out this morning I was a happy old lady. This block went together so quickly that I had time to complete the alternative block for #16, also designed by Lisa. Lisa was kind to post the alternative to help us ‘applique impaired’ people in the group and I love it. I was able to use my new fabric I found at a yard sale and the colors blended perfectly.
It is never to late to join the Moda Blockheads BOW group. We will be making 48 blocks. There is a Facebook page with instructions for the blocks and they are usually one page so you don’t burn up your printer. 🙂 You can always save them for when you have more time.
You are really doing a great job keeping up with the weekly blocks! Good for you!

Thanks Tonya. I am trying to stick with that color family for the entire QAL.

Hi Peggy,
I love your alternative block #16. I think the color go together perfectly and certainly great with #17. Good to know that if I started now, I’m only 17 blocks behind . . . HAHA. I am going to follow Pat Sloan’s new quilt along. ~smile~ Roseanne

Thanks Roseanne. Seventeen blocks sounds like a lot but MOST of them go pretty quick. Is it Pat’s Grandma’s Kitchen QAL? I am thinking of that one also.

It is Grandma’s Kitchen! I have all the fabrics except the white – I don’t know how I forgot that. So, as soon as I pick that up we’ll start with block #1. It just posted today. Let me know if you need the link! Roseanne

Thanks, but someone posted it on FB and I downloaded the block. Now just to find the time. 🙂
