All my blocks completed What finished project will be.
My Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal (OMG) for July was to complete the piecing of the Stars and Stripes quilt. I purchased this as a kit from Craftsy. I am happy to say that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The pattern called for 120 blocks of 16 2″ squares of assorted red and white fabrics and 64 blue and white star blocks. These star blocks have 256 flying geese. I have finished all the blocks and this is the most time consuming part of the project. Now I will begin working on joining all the blocks into rows and add the borders. Whew, it as been a time consuming project but I have enjoyed seeing it come together. The cutting was a little boring and I ended up with a blister but it was worth it.
I will post the finished quilt top soon.
Thank you so much for reading.
Oooooooh this will be stunning!

This is a great quilt, I especially like the scrappy stripe effect, very cool!

Thanks Kathy. I complained about all the little blocks to be sewn together but it does give it contrast with the different colors.

Isn’t always that way? At some point I always think why did I choose this?!😄

So pretty! You have done well! Bet Sami is worn out Peggy!

She is! Especially since I found she has her own stash started and she hides/stores her scraps under the coffee table.

That is so funny, Enzo steals scraps that have found their way to the floor. He stores his in his bed, lol.

Do they sell just the pattern? I do not need the kit.

Yes they do. I believe it is $9 but I’m not sure.

Joining the blocks together, then the rows will not take too long. Thanks.

Hi Peggy – these blocks are so pretty! I didn’t realize Sami had her own stash of fabrics. I bet her quilt won’t be quite as lovely as these blocks though. Can’t wait to see it coming together. ~smile~ Roseanne

Yep. Every piece of fabric that I drop disappears into her stash and she will not turn them lose.
