This project has been in my mind for a long time and I finally got the last border sewed last night. It was a simple project using half square triangles for the star and 2″ strips for each of the borders. Before quilting it is 41″ square that will be a perfect size for my little round dinette table. I will use the same blue as the last border for the binding. The quilting will be completed when Miss Daisy comes home from the Long Arm Hospital.
The best thing about this project: All the fabrics came from my stash! This does not happen often and when it does I like to let everyone know. 🙂
The inspiration for this project came from a screen shot I saved from 2012 in my ‘wish file’. All the information I have about it is Lemoyne Star Medallion Quilt by PetitQuilts. I want to give credit to PetitQuilts for designing this lovely piece.
Wonderful to see you back in the blogging world, I was hoping all was well with you and Sami!

Hi Peggy,
Two posts in recent memory! I love having you back and sewing. This is a fun table topper. Looks like some of the blue from GK maybe?! ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank Roseanne. It is so good to be back. I have lots of blue and it sneaks in a lot of my projects. I even found some that had a sticker from Montgomery Wards from Daytona Beach!!! They have been out of business from that location for over 30 years. I am ashamed of myself 🙂

Thank you Claire. If you looked in my sweat shop you would wonder why I ever bought more fabric. 🙂 I just can’t help myself.

we’re all the same. I’ve just bought a huge piece of fabric to start a new quilt. I probably have suitable fabrics in my stash to start, but I’ve been drooling over more pretty fabrics on-line, and will probably order some in for this brand new project even though I don’t really need them.

I usually forget that I have the ‘perfect’ fabric in my stash and have been known to buy more of the same fabric. 🙂 That’s OK…just proves that I REALLY liked it.

I’ve never done that yet lol.

Thank you Kate. I really enjoyed working on this one. I think because it was so simple and I didn’t have to think, only sew. 🙂

Yes! A friend was encouraging me to open a quilt shop and I was almost ready….then I got sick. Probably saved myself a lot of money….and a lot of work.
