Moda Blockheads BOW #41 of 48

DSCN1379

Blockheads #41 is from Lisa Bongean and it is named Pinwheel Star. As anyone that has read my blog on a regular basis knows, I love star blocks in quilts. This was an easy block and I am so glad I am doing 12 1/2″ blocks. I think the 6 1/2″ blocks would have driven me over the edge. 🙂  With only seven blocks left I am looking forward to putting this quilt together.

Thanks for visiting with us, and as my aunt would say, “Come back when you can stay longer.”

I am a retired grandmother living in hot and sunny Florida. I spend most of my days doing what I love: sewing and quilting. I have a spoiled rotten Boston Terrier named Sami who keeps me busy mostly by cleaning up after her and refilling holes in the yard that she insists on digging and burying her toys. Of course then she digs them up and brings them into the house resulting in...you guessed it...more cleaning. I will be posting pictures of Sami, quilts, flowers, and other things as they come along. Glad to have you join me.

  1. Hi Peggy,
Ooh, I like this block! As a recent converter to loving star blocks and pinwheels, this is just the perfect combination of both. It’s funny, in your More In Peggy and Sami Quilts posts today it shows your Big Purple Stars quilt which is really pretty too. I’m going to go read about that and stick around a while. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. I love star blocks, but they all drive me over the edge, no matter what the size. It always takes me a couple of rips and redos to get the precision. Do you have any tips? Your work is so precise and sharp.
