Moda Blockheads BOW #23 of 48

DSCN1160

It is Wednesday again! These weeks just fly by and I really look forward to Wednesday because it is Blockheads Day. The block this week is called Winneconne Star designed by Lisa Bongean. Of course it is another of my favorites because it is a star design and it is not difficult.

As this was the first block of the week I participated in I do not have a lot of experience on how they run, but this group of talented ladies really have it organized. I know on Wednesday mornings I can go directly to Facebook or the Moda website and download the pattern and instructions immediately. Early bird people usually have their completed blocks already downloaded so we can get ideas. I have really enjoyed sewing along with this group.

Cannot wait to see what next Wednesday brings us.

I am a retired grandmother living in hot and sunny Florida. I spend most of my days doing what I love: sewing and quilting. I have a spoiled rotten Boston Terrier named Sami who keeps me busy mostly by cleaning up after her and refilling holes in the yard that she insists on digging and burying her toys. Of course then she digs them up and brings them into the house resulting in...you guessed it...more cleaning. I will be posting pictures of Sami, quilts, flowers, and other things as they come along. Glad to have you join me.

  1. Hi again,
One more week and I would be officially half way behind, but your blocks are so pretty that you are making me want to join in. I wonder how big the quilt is going to be when it is finished? I really, really like your fabric choices! ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. I think it would be easier to do a bunch of the blocks at once instead of 1 at a time. Then you could cut multiple strips and arrange the colors better. I am finding it very hard to do just one block at a time. I am looking forward to you starting so I can get ideas from you. :)The blocks are supposed to be 6″ but I am doing mine 12″. My chubby fingers do not work well with tiny pieces. I will probably have enough for 2 lap quilts or one really HUGE one.
